Get Selected by MTU Maintenance Canada for the Aircraft Gas Turbine Engine Mechanic (GTE) Education Program.
Learn industry-recognized skills, along with hands on and in classroom learning, allowing you to become equipped for apprenticeships and real-world aviation maintenance careers.

This is a schooling program (not an employment position) that will provide you with the certification, technical knowledge, and hands-on skills needed to begin your journey as a Aircraft Gas Turbine Engine Mechanic.

Candidates must be available for a 10 month educational course starting February 2027.

 

Upon course completion, you’ll be well-positioned for apprenticeship opportunities in the aviation industry. Candidates may also be considered for scholarship to support class fees. Dependent upon performance, successful graduates will be considered for an GTE apprentice position at MTU Maintenance Canada.

Our Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Strong interest in aviation, mechanics, or technical trades
  • Intention to pursue a career as a GTE Mechanic
  • Commitment to completing a full-time training program
  • Willingness to learn in both classroom and hands-on environments
  • Ability to work in a team setting and follow safety procedures
  • Availability to commit to the full GTT course beginning in February 2026
  • Candidates must be able to provide proof of Canadian residency for the past 5 years

Upon successful completion of the Gas Turbine Engine Certificate Program, candidates hired at MTU will progress through the following wage structure:

Apprentice:

  • 1st 26 weeks: $29.62 / hour
  • 2nd 26 weeks: $31.35 / hour
  • 3rd 26 weeks: $33.73 / hour

Mechanic:

  • 1st 52 weeks: $39.21 / hour
  • 2nd 52 weeks: $40.48 / hour
  • 3rd 52 weeks: $41.40 / hour
  • 4th 52 weeks: $45.13 / hour
